The College offers undergraduate degrees in architecture, digital design, industrial design and interior design as well as graduate degrees in architecture, infrastructure planning, and urban systems.
The College of Architecture and Design is a comprehensive Design School located in a comprehensive research university. By studying design here, you will have ample opportunities for cross-pollination of ideas and interdisciplinary interaction.
NJIT offers 126 degree programs through six professional schools and colleges. You can double major, design an interdisciplinary major, opt for an accelerated bachelor’s or master’s degree program, and cross-register at nearby schools such as Rutgers University–Newark.

We aim to facilitate networking between our top students and Industry professionals. The Goal is to give students feedback, direction, and guidance as they complete their academic careers.
For industry professionals this provides a way to give back to the communities that fostered them as well as to get an inside look at the talent of tomorrow.
Games are used in research as vehicles for education and rehabilitation as well as foundations for research into new technologies such as virtual, augmented, and mixed realities. Our game development students are often involved in the ongoing research performed in other departments. Here are some prominent examples on how games are being used to further faculty research.
| Project | Principle Researcher | Department | |
| Home Based Virtual Rehabilitation System | Using games a vehicle for neuro-motor rehabilitation | Dr. Sergei Adamovich | Biomedical Engineering |
|
Vision and Neural Engineering Laboratory |
Using games to improve vision | Dr. Tara Alvarez | Biomedical Engineering |
| Gidget | Using games as a way to teach people programming and debugging | Dr. Michael Lee | Informatics |
| Qualitative Assessments | Using Games to refine qualitative assessments | Dr. Yvette Wohn | Informatics |
Here at NJIT we have pooled our talents from across the campus to create options for our students who wish to take part in game development.
In collaboration between the Information Technology Division and the School and Art and Design we offer a number of degrees that allow our students to focus their academic careers towards game development from Programming, Production, and Design.
If you are one of the students who can do design and development equally well, dual degree options are available.

At NJIT we do not offer degrees in "Game Design", "Game Production", or "Game Programming". Instead we offer tracks from within our existing accredited degree programs. We do not see value in pigeon-holing our students into one industry sector. We know the work that goes into creating games is more demanding and sophisticated than other applications of computing and design and want the degree that we award to reflect that.
Digital Design is an evolving and exciting multidisciplinary field that underlies many of today's fast-growing industries, from web-based communications to advertising to entertainment.
Applications of digital design can be seen in movies and television, magazine ads, video games, museum and trade show exhibits and of course, online. Today's designers must be entrepreneurs observing market trends, exploiting innovation, creating intellectual property, and applying aesthetic solutions to enhance the value of a product or service.

Information Technology (IT) is transforming our world, changing the way we do business, the way we learn, the way we communicate, and even the way we entertain ourselves.
The IT discipline addresses the integration, design, deployment, and management of computing and networking resources and services, as well as the development of technology infrastructures in organizations. The field of IT has applications ranging across the entire economic spectrum. IT specialists solve complex software and hardware problems that require fundamental knowledge and competencies and utilize the processes of needs assessment, technology transfer, and user support.
This makes IT the ideal home for the interdisciplinary area of Game Production.
